Who’s This For? While still a relatively new city, Milton Keynes has a rich heritage, and this package will enable you to explore these historic sites. This package would suit anyone who would like to discover the real, important historical assets that the city has to offer… If you have an interest in history, heritage and finding hidden gems in unusual location, this package is for you!

Costs: The cost of the package is £110.

This INCLUDES:
• Return train travel from your home railway station
• Dinner, bed and breakfast at De Vere Horwood Hotel
• Entrance and tour of the Cowper and Newton museum
• Entrance to Bletchley Park
• Rental of an electric car for the duration of your stay (NB: a £500 refundable deposit is payable to rent the car, and will be taken upon your arrival. Please ensure you bring your national insurance number and driving licence to enable the vehicle rental)

On arrival by train at Bletchley station, you will be given an induction in an electric car which you’ll have for your entire stay. After driving your electric vehicle to The Cowper and Newton Museum, you can enjoy a tour of the museum. Here, you can experience the fascinating Georgian domestic life of poet William Cowper and his neighbour, John Newton. The birthplace of Amazing Grace and The Olney Hymns, the Museum transports visitors back in time with its numerous personal artefacts.

From the Museum, you’ll will drive your own leased Electric Vehicle, to De Vere Horwood Hotel, in the Little Horwood on the west side of Milton Keynes. With its distinctive russet bricks, imported from the Netherlands, the mansion house at De Vere Horwood Estate was built in 1911 as a country residence for the Denny family, and has been welcoming guests ever since. A highlight of your stay will be a tour of the Pytheas Gardens: the estate was the birthplace of famous gardener, Percy Thrower, and your tour will include an insight into his family’s life. Following dinner, bed and breakfast, a tour of Milton Keynes’ top heritage attraction, Bletchley Park, which was once the top-secret home of the World War Two Codebreakers, will conclude the trip on Sunday.
